The holiday falls in Poland on March 10, two days after Women's Day. In Poland, Men's Day is not a popular holiday and there is no tradition of celebrating it. Why is it a different day from the celebration of International Men's Day? This date is connected with the Catholic Church's celebration of the memory of the Forty Martyrs of Sebasta. Therefore, Men's Day falls in Poland on March 10.
They were Roman legionaries who in 320 were sentenced to death for their faith when they refused to pay homage to pagan idols. The Roman Emperor Licinius ordered that they be stoned to death (which failed) and then exposed naked to the cold.
It is a holiday that recognizes the achievements of men from around the world and throughout history. It represents a time to reflect on their participation and involvement in co-creating educational, economic and technological advances in society.
