Bahrain, the third smallest country in Asia, is believed to have been the country where Arabian and Persian cultures coexisted. This country located in the Persian Gulf has no land borders with any other countries.
The country became independent on 15th August 1971, but it got the establishment as an Arab and Muslim country on 16th Dec 1983. The day is marked as Bahrain National Day and the anniversary of His Majesty the King’s Accession to the Throne. Bahrain National Day is on 16 and 17 December.
National Day in Bahrain is observed by the people as a day of gaiety. Thus, there are fireworks displays, laser shows, carnivals, exhibitions, competitions, concerts, and parades of colorful floats to mark the day of the country's independence and its former king's ascension to the throne.
