On October 21, we celebrate the day of the Armed Forces of Honduras, in charge of the protection, integrity of the Honduran territory, its sovereignty and welfare.
The Armed Forces of Honduras, created by Article 44 paragraph 4 of the First Constitution of the Legislative Chamber of 1825, and Dionisio de Herrera as the first supreme chief of state.
Another interesting fact is that in 1831, the Military School was created in the San Francisco barracks. The first time the Day of the Armed Forces of Honduras was celebrated was on October 21, 1956, after the overthrow of Julio Lozano Diaz, thus determining this as the day dedicated to this institution and its important function.
