The Romanian Navy Day is a civil and military holiday, marked by public authorities and other state institutions by organizing programs and events evocative, in the spirit of the traditions of the Romanian people, as well as by military and religious ceremonies organized by the Ministry of National Defense and the Ministry Administration and Interior.
It was established by Law no. 382 of September 28, 2004, published in the Official Gazette part I, no. 896 of October 1, 2004. Since 2009, August 15 has been declared a national holiday.
