Teachers' Day in Malaysia is held on May 16. This event in the second decade of the month May is annual. Help us
May 16 was chosen as Teacher's Day because on the same day in 1956 the Federal Legislative Council of Malaya (Federal Legislative Council) has accepted the recommendations of the Report of the Education Committee (Report of the Education Committee) as the Education Policy for country. The document known as LAPORAN RAZAK (Razak Report) has been the National Education Policy since that day.
OBJECTIVES OF TEACHER'S DAY
Emphasize the role of teachers in national construction (including unity and integration), national development and service to society.
To draw the attention of parents, students and the public to the important role of teachers in Malaysian society.
Foster a sense of professional unity and goodwill among teachers.
Raising the dignity and status of teachers in society.
Provide opportunities to develop teachers' competencies through seminars, conferences, etc. held on Teacher's Day.
