The Schanzer Pfingstvolksfest in Ingolstadt is a traditional folk festival that takes place every year at Whitsun. It has a long history dating back to 1946. The name “Schanzer” is derived from the historic fortress “Auf der Schanz”, which once protected the city of Ingolstadt.
The festival offers a variety of highlights, including large marquees, spectacular rides such as the “Wild Mouse” rollercoaster and the “Techno Power” high ride, as well as classics such as the chain carousel. There are also special events such as fireworks, senior citizens' afternoons and family afternoons. There are special attractions for children, such as a carousel in the style of Ariel the Mermaid.
The Schanzer Pfingstvolksfest is not only a place for fun and entertainment, but also a piece of Ingolstadt's living history and culture.
