The Osterwiese in Bremen is a traditional folk festival that takes place every year on Bremen's Bürgerweide - before, during and after Easter. The first Osterwiese was held in 1928 and has since become a permanent fixture in Bremen's calendar of events.
The festival covers an impressive 50,000 square meters and attracts around 500,000 visitors every year. Around 21 rides await guests at the Osterwiese, including the majestic Ferris wheel, the spooky ghost train and numerous carousels. Around 200 showmen present an exciting mix of traditional attractions and new experiences.
The Osterwiese is open daily from 2 p.m. to 11 p.m., except Good Friday. The culinary offerings range from crunchy roasted almonds and fluffy candy floss to hearty sausages and fresh fish sandwiches - everyone will find something to suit their taste.
There are special service points for younger visitors, which are supervised by the German Red Cross and ensure safety and support.
The Osterwiese thus offers a colorful range of experiences and is a highlight for the whole family, delighting visitors of all ages.
