Schwelm is the smallest town in North Rhine-Westphalia in terms of area. The Schwelmer Kirmes is a traditional event in the town of Schwelm, North Rhine-Westphalia. The first fair was held in the town just one year after the town charter was granted in 1496.
It offers a colorful program for young and old, with rides, stalls, music and delicious food. From fast-paced rollercoasters to cozy children's carousels, there is something for everyone. The funfair is full of music, dancing and happy people. You can sample delicious food and drink from all over the world at the many stalls. On Sunday there is a big parade with the 13 Schwelm neighborhoods. A spectacular fireworks display takes place on the last evening of the fair.
The fair has always been an important meeting place for the people of Schwelm and the surrounding area, and it is still a popular festival for young and old today.
