The Bünde Onion Market is an annual folk festival in Bünde, East Westphalia-Lippe, Germany. It is one of the largest onion festivals in Germany and attracts tens of thousands of visitors every year in September. The Bünde Onion Market has a long tradition and dates back to 1674. This is when the market was first mentioned in a document.
On the opening day, there is a large parade through the town center, in which numerous floats, music groups and dance groups take part.
A funfair with rides, stalls and sales stands is set up on the market square and in the adjacent streets. Live bands and music groups from various genres perform on several stages in the city center.
On Saturday and Sunday there is a large flea market where you can buy antiques, bric-a-brac and handicrafts.
