The Brokser Heiratsmarkt is a folk festival in Bruchhausen-Vilsen in the district of Diepholz, Lower Saxony. The Brokser Heiratsmarkt is one of the oldest folk festivals in northern Germany. Its origins date back to the Middle Ages. It was first mentioned in documents in 1645. It takes place at the end of August and lasts five days, from Friday to Tuesday. The name "marriage market" has its origins in the fact that young men and women from the surrounding area came to the market to look for a partner.
The last day of the market is the last Tuesday in August. This traditional festival offers a colorful mix of fairground rides, marquees, a trade show and a varied program.
Regional specialties and handicrafts are offered on the market square. A large fairground with rides, stalls and games provides entertainment for the whole family.
