The Schollenfest is a traditional event in Berlin that has existed for over 100 years. Originally celebrated as a harvest festival, the Schollenfest has evolved over time into a family festival for young and old.
It is organized by the building cooperative "Freie Scholle" zu Berlin, which hosts the oldest public festival in Berlin. The tradition of the Schollenfest has been preserved for generations.
The Schollenfest takes place over two days and offers a varied program.
Activities include children's parties, square concerts, parades and torchlight processions as well as other events in the housing cooperative's estates. During the festival, the streets and houses are decorated with garlands in the Schollen colors of red, white and green.
The parade is the highlight of the Schollenfest. An impressive torchlight procession takes place on Sunday evening. With a length of over 800 meters and more than 1000 participants, it is the largest torchlight procession in the whole of Berlin. The starting point is the northern part of Egidystraße.
A fairground is set up around the Schollenfest on Waidmannsluster Damm. There are bumper cars, merry-go-rounds, games booths, shooting galleries and much more.
