The Vorstraße feat. Spittaler Straße summer festival is an annual festival in Bremen that has been taking place since the 1970s. Originally launched as an internal summer barbecue in the halls of residence, it has developed over time into the largest festival in Bremen after the Breminale.
Non-commercial and student-friendly: The summer festival always remains non-commercial and strives to keep prices affordable for students.
Organization: The residents of the hall of residence organize the festival on a voluntary basis and on their own responsibility.
Number of visitors: Every year, around 6,000 visitors celebrate over the two days of the festival.
Music and culture: Musically, everything is open - from rock to hip hop to singer-songwriter pop. There is also a varied cultural program with poetry slams, children's afternoons and changing events such as improv theater and beer yoga.
Two stages: In addition to the main stage in the inner courtyard, there has been a second stage directly on the canal since 2009, where you can chill out in the warm June temperatures.
Two dormitories: The festival site is located in a normal student residence, which serves as a hall of residence during the rest of the year. The Vorstraßen hall of residence and the “Spittaler Straße” hall of residence organize the festival together.
The summer festival is a place of diversity, well-being and acceptance. Violence, racism and discrimination have no place here.
