Schmelz is a municipality in the district of Saarlouis in Saarland, Germany. It is located about 15 km northeast of Saarlouis and 25 km northwest of Saarbrücken. Residents of Schmelz are known as Schmelzer, similar to how a resident of Berlin is known as Berliner.
