Immerse yourself in the colorful spectacle of Hüfingen, where an impressive carpet of flowers 600 meters long and 1.80 meters wide unfolds during the Corpus Christi procession. Every year, new carpets come to life with fresh shapes, elements and colors, inspired by a custom from southern Italy. This unique custom began in Hüfingen back in 1842, but experienced an impressive revival after a break during the Second World War.
From four o'clock in the morning, thousands of colorful flower motifs are created, either based on their own designs or inspired by colorful stained glass windows, illuminations or paintings. The entire parish participates enthusiastically in this creative work. After the solemn early mass, the procession sets off, led by this breathtaking sea of flowers. This is followed by the sublime High Mass in the town church of St. Verena, and the community of Hüfingen experiences a day full of spirituality and visual splendor. A feast for the senses and a tribute to the creative community that keeps this tradition alive and radiant.
