In 2023, honoring the courage and heroism of tank warriors shown in the fight for freedom, independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine, as well as in order to create new military traditions, according to the Decree of the President of Ukraine No. 574/2023 of September 9, 2023, the Day of Tank Troops is established, which is now celebrated annually on September 14.
Previously, the "Tank Troops Day" was established by the Decree of the President of Ukraine No. 922/97 dated August 29, 1997 and was celebrated annually on the second Sunday of September.
