Sports Mass in Venezuela
Sports Mass in Venezuela is held on January 6. This event in the first decade of the month January is annual. Help us
Every January 6, athletes, coaches and sports glories gather at the Divina Pastora Church of Caracas, in the Libertador municipality, to give thanks for the year that has passed and to pray for the year to come.
This has been happening since January 6, 1945, when the parish priest of La Pastora, Francisco Castillo Toro, called a funeral to pay homage to baseball players Salvador Arguelles and José Pérez Colmenares.
Since then, every year, the Minister of People's Power for Youth and Sports summons all the athletes of the different sports disciplines and announces the national and international sports agenda for the year.
