On October 5 is commemorated 'The Day of the Road' (Día del Camino) which is in force since 1925 in all South American nations, it was established by the First International Pan American Road Congress, held in the city of Buenos Aires, Argentina. Few are the countries that have a calendar dedicated to the ''Day of the Road'' and Paraguay is one of those that, by government decree in 1966 established the ''Week of the Road'' that covers from September 30 to October 5.
It is worth mentioning that in country there are still challenges to overcome, since in several places the population lives isolated due to lack of roads, the Paraguayan Army is present in these places through the Army Engineering Command who are working on several fronts of the National territory.
It is important to highlight the importance of roads since they communicate us with other people, cultures, lifestyles, customs and through the ease that roads offer us we can get to know different places and enjoy the landscapes that nature offers us.
