International Donkey Day
International Donkey Day is held on May 8. This event in the first decade of the month May is annual. Help us
The donkey, donkey or equus asinus, as it is scientifically called, is a domestic animal that has traditionally collaborated with humans in tasks related to agriculture, cargo or transportation. May 8 is International Donkey Day, a date that serves to highlight the importance of this species and to vindicate the role that donkeys, have had (and still have) in the life of man. It is a noble, charismatic and peculiar quadruped, several protective societies are in favor of this celebration, with the aim of highlighting the importance of these animals in human activities.
In order for them not to disappear, we must open horizons and try to find new tasks that can be carried out with donkeys.
There is still much to be done to protect the donkey, not only in terms of the number of donkeys, which must continue to increase, but also in the normalization of the donkey as a leisure animal and also as an ally of man for these new tasks that are so far removed from the primary tasks for which they were used.
