Artisans are skilled workers who make handmade objects or crafts with their hands or hand tools. These objects produced usually have an aesthetic and/or utilitarian value: furniture, sculptures, clothing, jewelry, food products, tools and household items.
March 19 is the International Day of the Craftsman, a date set by Catholic tradition to commemorate St. Joseph's Day in memory of the father of Jesus, whose trade was that of carpenter. For this reason it is the day when craftsmen and craftswomen are celebrated all over the world.
