This January 15 is Composer's Day in Mexico, which celebrates all the composers of country, which together with the Society of Authors and Composers of Music (SACM) each year recognizes the work of the creators of the most popular musical themes.
It has been celebrated since 1965, although it was not until 1983 when the recognition was formalized with the support of SACM, on the occasion of the celebration of the creation of the Mexican Union of Authors, Composers and Music Publishers (SMACEM).
According to information from the Government of Mexico, in the Aztec society of ancient Mexico, the Ometochitl was the first composer of hymns, which were sung at parties, which has greatly inspired SACM in the creation of each of its themes.
There are several schools where you can study the career of Composition such as the National Conservatory of Music, the Superior School of Music and the Superior School of Music and Dance of Monterrey, which offers various modalities to study it.
