Pyrovassia is a spectacular Greek festival from 21 to 23 May, celebrated by the Anastenarians, a small people living in the north of Greece, during which the locals dance on the hot coals. Firewalking is associated with pagan rituals, but the Greek Pyrovassia has already become a holiday of the Greek Orthodox Church.
