The Eitorfer Kirmes has a long tradition and can look back on over 870 years of history. It is the largest fair in the Rhein-Sieg district and attracts between 50,000 and 100,000 visitors every year. The first documented mention of the Eitorfer Kirmes dates back to 1145, when it was still held on St. Martin's Day. Over the centuries, the date was moved several times until it finally found its current location in September in the 19th century.
Every year, a special Kölsch glass is issued to mark the opening of the fair, which bears the coats of arms of the twin towns of Bouchain and Halesworth as well as the Eitorf coat of arms.
The Eitorf funfair offers a wide range of rides for young and old, from fast-paced rollercoasters and carousels to cozy children's rides. You can enjoy delicious food and drinks and try out games at numerous stalls.
Live performances by various bands and musicians take place on the fairground stage every day. On the last day of the fair, there is a large firework display that crowns the event.
