Hanover Shooting Festival
Hanover Shooting Festival is held on June 26. The ten-day event begins on the last Friday in June. This event in the third decade of the month June is annual.
The Hanover Shooting Festival (Schützenfest) on the approximately ten-hectare Schützenplatz in Hanover is considered the largest shooting festival in the world; its tradition dates back to the 15th century. The world's largest marksmen's festival, which is one of the most popular folk festivals in Germany, will once again attract numerous visitors to Hannover's Schützenplatz. They can expect a colorful mixture of traditional marksmen's sports, entertainment, traditional and fast-paced rides and many culinary delights.
The ten-day event attracts around 900,000 visitors every year, and in the past has often broken the million mark. The traditional drink is the Lüttje Lage. Around 200 showmen are represented at the festival.
