Food Day in Venezuela
Food Day in Venezuela is held on November 18. This event in the second decade of the month November is annual.
This November 18 celebrate in Venezuela the Food Day, a date determined by the Bolivarian Revolution to raise awareness among the population about the fundamental role that food plays in the health of human beings.
It is a date commemorating the creation of the National Institute of Nutrition (INN), which was established in 1949 during the administration of President Romulo Gallegos. Two years later, this entity celebrated for the first time this important day in the country.
It was in 1999, with the arrival of the Commander in Chief of the Republic, Hugo Rafael Chávez Frías, when the INN created the "Trompo de los alimentos", a tool to educate Venezuelans in this matter and to make them consume, in a balanced way, more natural products.
