National Siamese Cat Day in USA
National Siamese Cat Day in USA is held on April 6. This event in the first decade of the month April is annual.
Siamese cats came from Thailand, then known as Siam. The Siamese cat has come a long way since first coming to America in the late 19th century. When introduced in London they were called, “an unnatural, nightmare kind of cat.” In recent years, Siamese have rated in or near the top 10 cat breeds in America based on Cat Fanciers’ Association registration statistics.
National Siamese Cat Day has been observed annually on April 6th since 2014, and was created by cat-lover Jace Shoemaker-Galloway. Today shines the spotlight on the magnificent Siamese breed!
