National Dog Fighting Awareness Day in US

National Dog Fighting Awareness Day in US is held on April 8. As part of Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Month in April, the ASPCA. This event in the first decade of the month April is annual.
A fighting dog’s life is full of pain from birth to death. Every year, thousands of dogs are abused and killed in the illegal dog fighting industry. Upwards of 16,000 dogs are estimated to die every year from dogfighting in the US.
It’s a brutal sport where two innocent animals are trained to attack and kill. Dogs are pitted against each other and forced to fight to the death. Spectators bet on who will win the bloody, ugly matches. Dogfighting is seen as a gateway crime. The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) coined April 8 as National Dog Fighting Awareness Day each and every year to reveal the truth behind dogfighting and encourage dog lovers around the nation to take action to prevent and/or stop this cruel act.
