Inconvenience Yourself Day
Inconvenience Yourself Day is held on February 26. It is celebrated on the fourth Wednesday of February of every year. This event in the third decade of the month February is annual.
If a stranger let you in the supermarket line before them, opened the door for you, gave up a seat or simply wished you a good day, then it’s probably the fourth Wednesday of February and Inconvenience Yourself Day.
This unusual special day was created in 2006 by Ms.Julie Thompson, the environmental consultant in Ft. Lauderdale at Florida. The idea behind the holiday was to make people realize how helping somebody in a small way could make an enormous difference in others life. And yes, it might give you some inconvenience. You might need to sacrifice a little comfort, time or energy. But anyone who has practiced being more attentive to others, will agree that it’s totally worth it. Mitch Albom said:” Sacrifice is a part of life. It’s supposed to be. It’s not something to regret. It’s something to aspire to.”
One act of kindness to any perfect strangers will not only help the stranger feel right, but also it will make you feel happy and satisfied.
Use this day as an opportunity to present yourself in a better way by doing the right thing, supporting the positive actions of others, driving courteously, making a positive impact with your words and actions.
Making someone’s day better can make the whole world a little better place!
