National Water and Sanitation Day in Bolivia is held on October 29. This event in the third decade of the month October is annual.
Bolivia is a country rich in water. On October 18, 1989, the then Ministry of Urban Affairs, through Ministerial Resolution 227, established October 29th of each year as the "National Water and Sanitation Day". The date was established to promote the importance of the provision of drinking water and sewerage. Along these lines, the Political Constitution of the Plurinational State of Bolivia recognizes access to water as a human right.
